Sustainability Policy

Purpose
This policy sets out Safety Nation Pty Ltd’s approach to sustainability for the purpose of meeting customer, tender, and EOI expectations in a manner proportionate to the company’s size, risk profile, and operating context.
The policy demonstrates alignment with recognised sustainability and sustainable procurement principles, including ISO 20400, without creating binding commitments, quantified targets, or reporting obligations beyond those required by law.

2. Policy Statement
Safety Nation Pty Ltd recognises that its operations and procurement activities may have environmental and social impacts. The company conducts its activities in a lawful and responsible manner and applies sustainability considerations where relevant and practicable.
Safety Nation Pty Ltd adheres to the principles of ISO 20400 (Sustainable Procurement) in a manner proportionate to its scale and resources. This adherence focuses on governance, risk awareness, ethical conduct, and integration of sustainability considerations into procurement decision-making, rather than on certification or quantitative performance targets.
This policy does not establish public targets, forward-dated pledges, or mandatory sustainability outcomes.

3. Scope and Applicability
This policy applies to:
Safety Nation Pty Ltd’s internal operations.
Procurement and supplier engagement relating to material spend only.
The following activities are excluded:
Emergency procurement
Sole-source procurement
Procurement through government-mandated panels
The policy applies to direct suppliers only and does not extend to subcontractors or downstream supply chains beyond areas of reasonable influence.

4. Definitions
Sustainability
The integration of environmental, social, and governance considerations into business and procurement activities, consistent with ISO 20400 principles and applicable legal requirements.
Material spend
Procurement expenditure assessed internally as material having regard to value, risk, and operational importance.

5. Principles
Safety Nation Pty Ltd’s sustainability approach is guided by the following principles, aligned with ISO 20400:
Legal compliance: Operations and procurement activities comply with applicable Australian laws and regulations.
Proportionality: Sustainability considerations are applied in a manner appropriate to a micro-enterprise.
Ethical behaviour: Procurement decisions are undertaken with regard to ethical conduct and responsible business practices.
Risk awareness: Sustainability-related risks are considered where relevant to procurement and operational decisions.
Integration: Sustainability considerations are integrated into existing decision-making processes rather than managed as a standalone system

6. Governance and Accountability
The Board notes oversight of sustainability matters as part of its general governance responsibilities.
Executive accountability for this policy rests with the Managing Director.
Implementation is managed through existing operational and procurement processes.
No dedicated sustainability committee or external assurance arrangements are established under this policy.

7. Operational Approach
Consistent with ISO 20400 principles and where appropriate to scale and risk, Safety Nation Pty Ltd will:
Seek to minimise unnecessary waste in its operations.
Consider sustainability-related risks and ethical considerations when selecting suppliers for material spend.
Maintain compliance with environmental, workplace health and safety, and product safety legislation.
Engage suppliers on a reasonable-endeavours basis regarding lawful and responsible business practices.
Respond to customer, EOI, or tender requests for sustainability information using available internal records and reasonable estimates.
Safety Nation Pty Ltd does not operate a standalone sustainability management system and does not currently track quantitative sustainability metrics.

8. Measurement and Reporting
No quantitative sustainability targets are set under this policy.
Sustainability-related information may be collated on an ad hoc basis to meet customer or tender reporting requirements.
Any reporting provided is descriptive in nature and based on existing business information.
No public sustainability reporting commitments are made.

9. Continuous Improvement
Safety Nation Pty Ltd recognises that sustainability practices may evolve over time in response to changes in:
Regulatory requirements
Customer and tender expectations
Business scale and operational capacity
Any improvements will be considered in a manner consistent with ISO 20400 principles and the company’s risk appetite.

10. Review and Approval
This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure continued relevance and appropriateness. Amendments are approved by the Managing Director, with Board oversight noted.
